Loss of Pressure
In the event that the system is no longer pressurized, the Division Two Blow Off needs to be opened to allow air to escape the system and to avoid stresses on the system.
If the booster pumps are off for an extended period of time (for maintenance, power outage, etc…) and the Mains Pressure Gauge reads 0 or close to 0, it is critical that the Division Two Blow Off be opened before the booster pumps are restarted.
- Ensure that the division_two_shutoff is open
- Open the Division Two Blow Off
- Put one of the booster pumps into manual mode
- Let the booster pump run for at least 10 minutes, the water coming out of the blowoff should be steady, no sputtering or air.
- The Mains Pressure Gauge should show some pressure now.
- Slowly close division_two_shutoff
- Set the booster pump to auto
- Monitor the Mains Pressure Gauge and the pressure gauge in the control box. It should return to 20 psi
- The booster pump set to auto should automatically shut off when the system reaches ~22 psi
